SOMETHING BORROWED, the debut novel from author Emily Giffin, tells the story of Rachel, a young attorney living and working in Manhattan. Rachel, the consummate good girl, has been living in the shadow of her best friend, Darcy, for as long as she can remember. The night of her thirtieth birthday, after one too many drinks, she winds up in bed with Darcy's fiancé. Rachel wakes up determined to put the one-night fling behind her, the problem is, she realizes, she has genuine feelings for the one guy she can never have.
